Upcoming Working Group: New Egyptian Child Law

**Opportunity for inclusion of refugee & migrant children under Egyptian Law…..
A new law based on “The Convention on Rights of the Child” was just approved by Parliament. It is a great opportunity to address refugee and migrant children’s rights as well as Egyptian children under a national legal protection umbrella. The Egyptian Coalition on Children’s Rights is currently working to develop an annex to the executive legislation for Egyptian national law, with approval from the government. Children’s Cooperative and Tadamon are organizing and facilitating a workshop on CRC & The New Egyptian Law to finalize suggestions that could be added to this annex to make it more inclusive.
This is an opportunity to lobby for refugee & migrant children’s rights to access education services, protection under Egyptian Law, health insurance for children attending Egyptian schools, etc. Please collaborate with us both to generate an addendum and to disseminate info on how to take advantage of this law in your own activities
